With Exmonte one thing takes centre stage: nature that you can trust.
Seit 2007 entwickeln wir in unserer Produktionsstätte in Österreich hochwertige Naturpflegeprodukte, die auf jahrhundertealtem Wissen basieren – kombiniert mit moderner Forschung und strenger Qualitätskontrolle.
Our roots lie in the Alpine region. This is where we find the best raw materials for our products: naturally pure, as regional as possible and selected with the greatest care. We are convinced that nature has everything a person needs for health, skin care and well-being.
We deliberately avoid ingredients that unnecessarily harm the skin and the environment:
❌ Paraffins
❌ Parabens
Silicones
❌ Nanoparticles
❌ Aluminium
❌ Microplastics
Instead, we rely on vegetable oils, high-quality herbal extracts and - in the case of our marmot products - traditionally sourced marmot oil from sustainable hunting in the Alps. This results in products that are noticeably effective and support the natural regeneration of the skin.
Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products
We hereby declare that all our products fully comply with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products from the date of entry into force on 11 January 2010 and the date of application on 11 July 2013.
The corresponding CPNP reference numbers can be found in the respective product text.
We generate around 80 % of our electricity requirements ourselves with our photovoltaic system. We cover the remaining requirement with 100 % of green electricity from renewable sources.
Our heating is fuelled by regional wood chips - sustainable, environmentally friendly and directly from the region.
There is currently no legal labelling requirement for vegan cosmetics. However, we voluntarily indicate when products are purely plant-based.
Our production takes place in accordance with the Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No. 1223/2009.
This ensures that our products meet the highest safety and quality standards.
In principle, there is no uniform legal definition of the term natural cosmetics at European level, as the underlying criteria are formulated somewhat differently, meaning that these products cannot fulfil a uniform standard. The situation for manufacturers, distributors and consumers is therefore confusing.
A brief definition of the term natural cosmetics:
Natural cosmetics are products made from natural raw materials of plant and mineral origin. The raw materials used in natural cosmetic products should come from organic cultivation as far as possible. Only physical, microbiological or enzymatic methods are legally permitted for the extraction and further processing of these natural substances. Any use of chemical extraction or processing steps is strictly prohibited!
Synthetic colourants, ethoxylated raw materials, silicones, paraffinum liquidum, paraffin wax, paraffin oil, vaseline, cyclopentasiloxane, trideceth - 6 phosphate, glyceryl stearate, CI 15985, CI 47005, petrolatum, Cera Microcristallina, Microcristallina Wax, Ozokerite, Ceresin, Parabens and Phenoxyethanol synthetic fragrances, aluminium, nanoparticles, genetically modified raw materials, mineral oil and other petroleum products, etc.
By applying these saturated, acyclic hydrocarbons (mineral oil), the skin is sealed off from breathing and air. This water-insoluble film on the epidermis (outermost skin layer) weakens the skin's natural transpiration. Even with thorough cleansing, this film can never be completely broken. What is shiny on the surface and soft to the touch causes a number of processes under the skin.
The main reason for using these ingredients is the favourable and cheap availability of the raw material. Although produced cheaply, the prices of cosmetic products fluctuate greatly and cosmetic products are often sold and marketed at very high prices. Mineral oil and paraffin oil are added to many products, which significantly extends their shelf life. The addition of these substances enables extremely cheap and simple mass production.

The ingredients must be listed in descending order and in Latin, according to the botanist Carl von Linné.
